Obayashi Corporation holds financial results briefings and individual meetings, as well as twice-yearly construction site tours, in order to provide institutional investors, including shareholders, and securities analysts with a better understanding of the it's business performance and operations.

Following the previous tour held at a large shield tunnel construction site in March 2019, on October 21 Obayashi held a tour of the construction site of the new Taisho University Building #8 in Sugamo, Tokyo, welcoming 18 participants including institutional investors and analysts.

This project, which is scheduled to be completed in July 2020, involves creating a complex facility consisting of a “Learning Commons,” one of the largest learning support spaces in Japan, which can be used as an independent study space or for lectures, as well as a library featuring an atrium structure and a worship hall.

During the tour of the construction site, participants were shown state-of-the-art construction technology, including integrated use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), which serves as the foundation for the next-generation construction approach that Obayashi is pursuing, as well as the automated welding of steel columns. The guests took a front row seat as the robot precisely welded the joints of the steel frame.

Obayashi will continue striving to foster constructive engagement with our shareholders, investors, and other stakeholders as well as to enhance information disclosure.
