Obayashi Corporation holds regular financial results briefing and business briefings, as well as tours of construction sites and other facilities in order to provide institutional investors and securities analysts with a better understanding of it's business performance and operations. On December 21, 2022, Obayashi hosted a tour at Group company PLiBOT Co., Ltd with seven institutional investors and securities analysts in attendance.
Founded in September 2022, PLiBOT is a business company that provides automation and labor-saving solutions centered on an integrated control platform that operates a wide variety of AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) in coordination with existing facilities, with the mission of realizing a sustainable society where people and robots work together.
The Obayashi Group is working to pursue technological and business innovation in order to create business opportunities in the fields of carbon neutrality and well-being under its Medium-Term Business Plan 2022, and PLiBOT is the first company to undergo a successful carve-out from Obayashi's Business Innovation Division as a new business initiative.
During the tour, participants had the opportunity to observe several state-of-the-art autonomous robots working together via the PLiBOT™, an integrated control platform, and also received an explanation of PLiBOT's business outline, the technology behind the integrated control platform, and the Obayashi Group's efforts to develop new business initiatives.
Participants not only asked questions about the size of PLiBOT's business, its competitive advantage in the market, and examples of the solutions it offers its customers, but also expressed interest in other businesses that could potentially be carved out from Obayashi in the future.
