Obayashi Corporation holds briefings and construction site tours to provide institutional investors and securities analysts with a better understanding of its business performance and operation.

On December 5, 2025, Obayashi held a tour of the National Route 20 Shin-Sasago Tunnel (Otsuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture), attended by 12 institutional investors and securities analysts.

This project involves  construction of a new tunnel adjacent to the west side of the existing National Route 20 Shin-Sasago Tunnel, which is currently in use but faces significant challenges including severe deterioration, obstructions to the passage of tall container trucks, and safety issues for pedestrians and cyclists. The new tunnel is expected to contribute to regional logistics and other benefits.

During the tour, participants received explanations of the OTISM, which is being trialed to enhance- safety and reduce- labor in mountain tunnel excavation. This includes technologies like Blast Skill AI™, which uses AI to evaluate ground conditions and create blast patterns; Quick Telector™, enabling remote support installation; and Roboltus™, which performs remote, tablet-operated operations from drilling rock bolts, mortar grouting, to the insertion of rock bolts.

Inside the tunnel, participants observed up close the automated drilling process using the "Computer Jumbo," a computer-controlled tunnel hydraulic drill "Drill Jumbo."

In the Q&A session, participants expressed high expectation and strong interest in OTISM’s advantages, such as enhancing productivity, labor reduction, improving safety through unmanned face operations, and developing work methods independent of skilled workers. Participants also inquired about comparisons with competing technologies, future development at other sites, and prospects for further development. In response to positive feedback for the low-dust and orderly construction environment, participants received an explanation of measures implemented at the site to compete the project accident- and disaster-free, such as tunnel illumination and subgrade preparation.
