The Obayashi Group’s integrated report, OBAYASHI CORPORATE REPORT 2025, has received the Excellence Award for the first time at the 5th NIKKEI Integrated Report Award, organized by Nikkei Inc.

The NIKKEI Integrated Report Award evaluates integrated reports—which serve as a  dialogue tool between companies and investors—from the perspectives of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) information, business models for value creation, and governance. The evaluations are conducted by institutional investors and academic experts. In its fifth year, the504 companies and organizations that publish integrated reports participated in this award.

In this year’s evaluation, the Obayashi Group’s integrated report received particularly high marks for its objective analysis of management resources; its medium- to long-term management goals (KPIs) and strategies; its persuasive capital allocation policies, financial policies, and business portfolio management supporting medium- to long-term business expansion; and the advancement of its corporate governance system.

The judges commented that the company aims to build a portfolio centered on domestic construction while expanding diverse businesses globally, with clearly defined goals based on an understanding of its management resources and business environment. They also noted that the disclosure of specific and proactive figures regarding the cost of capital and dividend on equity is commendable, and that notable strengths include the dialogues with independent directors, outside audit and supervisory board members, and the Chairman of the Board, which clearly convey the company’s challenges and the substance of its discussions.

The Obayashi Group has positioned its Integrated Report as an important communication tool for all stakeholders, including shareholders and investors, and has published it annually since 2012. In the report, the Obayashi Group communicates its basic philosophy and its policies presented in its long-term vision, Obayashi Sustainability Vision 2050, to realize the sustainability of “the planet, society, and people” and of the Obayashi Group, and explains the Obayashi Group’s value creation process from both financial and non-financial perspectives, including progress under its medium-term business plan.

The Obayashi Group will continue to enhance corporate value by providing clear and comprehensive disclosures and engaging in constructive dialogue with all stakeholders.
